Happy Erev Shabbat Kodesh, DAT Minyan Community!

Here are today’s updates:

1. FINAL POLOTSKY BAR MITZVAH SCHEDULE: I know you have received many conflicting schedules about Eli Polotsky’s Bar Mitzvah. THIS IS THE FINAL, and DEFINITIVE schedule! Eli WILL be leading the Kabbalat Shabbat this afternoon. What a great opportunity for the ENTIRE DAT MINYAN COMMUNITY to come together and support this young man during a difficult time!    1. 6:30 pm: Mincha
   2. 6:40 pm: Tehillim for the Sick
   3. 6:45 pm: Rabbi Friedman’s Derasha/Charge to the Bar Mitzvah boy
   4. 7:00 pm: Mark Raphaely will introduce Dr. Hanna Polotsky, who will share a few words.
   5. 7:05 pm: Kabbalat Shabbat, led by Eli Polotsky
   6. 7:30 pm: Candle Lighting

The Polotskys asked everyone to join together for Havdalah at 8:45 pm on Motzaei Shabbat in honor of the Bar Mitzvah. It can be accessed at the same Zoom address found above.

2. TEFILAH GUIDE FOR SHABBAT: You can access the Tefilah guide for this Shabbat (Shabbat Rosh Chodesh) here.
3. HAIRCUT AND SHAVING TODAY: Since this Erev Shabbat is also the first day of Rosh Chodesh Iyar, it is permitted to have a haircut or shave, even for those who begin conducting the restrictions of Sefira from the second day of Pesach (the first half).
4. HAMIZRACHI: For those who enjoy reading the HaMizrachi magazine, here is a link to the Yom HaAtzmaut issue.
5. YOM HAZIKARON/YOM HA’ATZMAUT: Stay tuned next week for information regarding programming for these events next week.
