The Matan Bat Mitzvah Program at DAT Minyan

As a Jewish pre-teen approaches her Bat Mitzvah, she must face issues of her changing identity and her place as both a woman and a member of the larger Jewish community. Through our Mother-Daughter Bat Mitzvah Program - Jewish Women through the Ages, Matan helps young women and their mothers navigate this life-passage together so as to allow the Bat Mitzvah girl to build an adult identity rooted firmly in Jewish sources. This identification of Jewish women with their heritage is absolutely critical for the Jewish continuity of the next generation. The Matan Bat Mitzvah Program allows you to join other mothers and daughters in a spiritual journey that will transform your mother-daughter relationship as you explore together what it has meant to be a Jewish woman in generations past and what it means to each of you today.  This exciting program helps Jewish girls and their mothers to:
Connect
with Jewish sources in fresh and creative ways.
Open
new channels of communication.
Share
the excitement of discovering their own place in the chain of Jewish continuity.

The next session of our Matan Bat Mitzvah Program will begin in the Fall of 2013. For more information, email Program Coordinators Ariella Sunshine or Naomi Lev.
