Erev Pesach Sameach, DAT Minyan Community!

Here are today’s final pre-Pesach updates:

  1. POSITIVE, UPBEAT THOUGHTS: I found OU President Moshe Bane’s Pesach message incredibly powerful and positive, and I urge you all to take a minute and read it before the Chag begins. Also, my dear friend Rabbi Ephraim Schwartz, of Karmiel, Israel, wrote a very positive and empowering Pesach thought that I highly recommend.
  2. OU DAILY TEHILLIM: Every Day at 1:00PM EDT For Tehillim and Divrei Chizuk. Tehillim (chapters 20 [pg. 152], 27 [pg. 170] and 130 [pg. 82]) and divrei chizuk (words of inspiration). Today’s divrei chizuk will be shared by Rabbi Kalman Topp of Beth Jacob Congregation in Beverly Hills, CA. To participate, please dial 773-377-9170 or 480-210-2150.
  3. KOL HA’NE’ARIM: Here is a very special Pesach publication I urge you to print out before the Chag. “Kol HaNe’arim” is a joint publication of Divrei Torah submitted by students from dozens of Modern Orthodox schools in the US, including our very own Denver Academy of Torah! Enjoy!
  4. SOMEDAY WE WILL ALL BE TOGETHER: Many of us grew up hearing the famous Mordechai ben David song, “Someday.” Last week, 25 contemporary Jewish music artists rerecorded the song, each one from their home. You can watch the video here.
  5. ISRAELI PHILHARMONIC: Here is a Pesach gift from the Israeli Philharmonic!
  6. HALACHA TESHUVOT FROM RAV SHECHTER: Here is an amazing link to dozens of responsa from HaRav Herschel Schechter שליט"א regarding COVID-19 issues. They are hyperlinks, so you would need to print out the ones which interest you before the Chag – or have some great Chol HaMoed reading!
  7. OU WOMEN’S INITITAIVE: COUNTING TOWARDS SINAI: During these challenging times, we turn to Hashem in our Tefillot for strength, solace and connection. To provide Tefillah insights and inspiration during the upcoming Omer period, the OU Women's Initiative is introducing the Counting Toward Sinai Initiative. Each day of the Omer, we will feature a different speaker from across the globe - 49 women for the 49 days of Sefirat Haomer.

  8. TWO DERASHOT: I have included a Pesach Derasha in the newsletter (also available here), but I will be sharing a DIFFERENT Pesach Derasha at 6:45 pm, followed by Tehillim and a prayer for Cholim, and Mincha.
  9. MUSICAL HAVDALAH: Saturday night, at 8:35 pm, I will lead a musical Havdalah on Zoom – have your own wine, candle and spices at the ready! Join us at https://sundaysky.zoom.us/j/6373445618?status=success.
  10. SCHEDULE: Here is the schedule for Pesach, and here is the order of prayers to be recited at home over the first days of the Chag.

Chag Sameach!
