Happy Tuesday, DAT Minyan Community!

Here are today’s updates:

  1. VIRTUAL L’CHAIM, FEATURING BILLY CRYSTAL: Tomorrow, May 20, 2020, from 6:00 PM – 6:20 MST, join members of the Jewish community from across North America to honor the first responders who are on the front lines working to address the COVID-19 pandemic. The event, featuring comedian/actor Billy Crystal and leaders as well as members of the Jewish community, will demonstrate the Jewish community's appreciation of our first responders, who include law enforcement, fire personnel, EMS, and health care workers, as well as others. See the flyer here. It will be held live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/events/2490412621268940/
  2. YOM YERUSHALAYIM CELEBRATION: Thursday evening/Friday day is Yom Yerushalayim, celebrating 53 years since the reunification of our holy city.
    1. The DAT Minyan will be participating with the OU and the World Mizrachi Movement with a program on Thursday night, following a Maariv Chagigit. More information to come (the OU has not finalized their program yet).
    2. On Friday morning, we will be adding Hallel to our regular Virtual (non)Minyan.
  3. MINYAN STARTING: Speaking of Minyan, allow me to clear up any confusion. The rabbinic letter I sent out last week stated the EARLIEST shuls can start in Denver, and the MINIMUM safety standards they will need to implement. The letter also stated that each shul can use its own discretion. The DAT Minyan is NOT starting minyanim this Friday. The decision when to open is being left to the Board of Directors, who have already stated they will be taking a very conservative approach to the start date. Stay tuned for more information.
  4. “VAYICHAN” PROJECT: Yeshivat HaKotel, in conjunction with the OU and MIZRACHI, is presenting an UNPRECEDENTED worldwide Achdut event! In preparation for Shavuot and Matan Torah - when 3332 years ago, we all stood together as one by Mt. Sinai – the world’s leading rabbis, educators and speakers – from the ENTIRE spectrum of Orthodoxy – will be offering presentations over a a 4½ hour period. Click here for an interactive schedule (note the links in the document will not work until it is time for the class). The program begins during our regular Shacharit time; we will NOT be changing our regular time of davening.

  1. DAILY VIRTUAL (NON)MINYAN: Join us at our regularly scheduled times for Shacharit and Mincha/Maariv by logging in at: https://zoom.us/j/94819261580. If you want to call in, dial 302-715-8592 US or 253-215-8782, Meeting ID: 948 1926 1580. YOU DON’T HAVE TO PUT ON THE VIDEO IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO BE SEEN!

Have an awesome day!
