Celebrating Bar/Bat Mitzvahs at the DAT Minyan

We look forward to the opportunity of sharing celebrations with our member families.  A one-month minimum notice is required to book a Bar or Bat Mitzvah, accompanied by a deposit of $150 representing a Facilities Fee.  This fee is non-refundable and non-transferable to another date if the booking is cancelled with less than one-month notice. Kiddush fees are extra. The Facilities Fee is a stand alone fee and does not apply toward the price of kiddush for the occasion.  For non-member families who desire to have Bar/Bat Mitzvah celebrations with us, the Facilities Fee is $300, half of which ($150) must be paid at the time of booking.

For kiddush fees, please see the Kiddush Sponsorship section below.

Additional fees incurred for a simcha may include chair rental, refrigerator rental, wait staff, and janitorial costs for additional setup and cleaning.

Sponsor Kiddush or Seudah Shlisheet at DAT Minyan

If you would like to sponsor Kiddush or Seudah Shlisheet at the DAT Minyan, please follow the following steps:

(1) A minimum of one-week notice is required.

(2) Email Kiddush@datminyan.org with the date you would like to sponsor and please specify whether you are sponsoring a kiddush or Seudah Shlisheet.

(3) Within 24 hours, our Executive Director will let you know if the date you would like is available.

(4) If your date is available and you are not planning a simcha in conjunction with your kiddush sponsorship, your date will be booked on the calendar upon receipt of a $50 deposit, which can be billed to your account at your request (smachot require a separate Facilities Fee which is outlined above). The deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable to another date if the booking is cancelled with less than one-week notice. Shortly thereafter, either our Kiddush Coordinator or Executive Director will be in touch with you to finalize the details of your kiddush or Seudah Shlisheet.

(5) Your kiddush deposit will apply toward the balance of the charges for the kiddush you choose. If you are using an outside caterer, this deposit is retained by the DAT Minyan and all additional catering charges must be paid directly to the caterer.

(6) For most purposes, a sponsored enhanced, non-cholent Kiddush is $425, and a sponsored cholent (2 pots) Kiddush is $590.

(7) A sponsored Seudah Shlisheet, which consists of tuna salad, rolls, chips, humus and soft drinks is $100. An enhanced Seudah Shlisheet, which includes the addition of lox and cream cheese, is $200.

(8) On a monthly basis, typically Shabbat Mevarchim, we look for sponsorship of our Hashkama Minyan kiddush. The fee for that sponsorship is $100. Please contact our Kiddush Coordinator or Executive Director to make arrangements.

The Kiddush Coordinator will be in touch with you regarding specific fees, and you will be billed accordingly.
